First Step to Learning a New Language – Forget It! (Part 2)

From my personal experience, it is hard to learn a language if you think of it as a task with a lot of structure and a definite ending. I have been trying to learn Spanish as a task (something on my list of things I need to do) and have really struggled. I bought books and software, but have repetitively found myself neglecting the discipline required to study – and feeling guilty about it. I was embarrassed to try to speak because of my incompetence and lack of both humility and patience to be corrected after every word.
